A veteran of the Dallas real estate market, Tom C. Smolik, SIOR is a principal and partner for TIG, where he heads up the leasing and brokerage team. Tom is responsible in assisting clients in obtaining and underwriting institutional portfolio purchases.

He joined the company in 1995 as a leasing agent, rising to the position of senior vice president and shareholder in 1998 and became a partner in 2004. In 2002, Tom was asked to join the board of the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®, an honor extended only to an exclusive group of real estate professionals.

While at TIG, Smolik's leasing highlights include a 151,000 square-foot lease to Central Garden & Pet, an 83,000 square-foot build-to-suit for Federal Express, a 400,000 square-foot lease to Shippers Warehouse, and a 121,000 square-foot lease to the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service.

Prior to joining TIG, Smolik spent six years with POB Montgomery and Company as vice president, specializing in project leasing, investment sales and brokerage. Smolik began his career with Harry B. Lucas, specializing in industrial brokerage. During his career, Smolik has been responsible for 523 transactions totaling 6.7 million square feet, at a value of more than $150 million.

Since 1997, Tom has been awarded each year one of the Dallas Business Journal’s “Heavy Hitters” and the most prestigious award of “Heavy Hitter All-star.” He is consistently recognized as an elite “Power Broker”. Smolik is a Texas licensed real estate broker and an active member of the North Texas Commercial Association of Realtors.

A Richardson native, Smolik earned a bachelor's degree in business, with a concentration in real estate marketing, from the University of Texas at Austin.
